The Oldershaw Academy
We are a large mixed 11-18 high school which has a proud history successfully working with the Wallasey community providing excellent education for over 90 years. The Academy has a strong partnership with over 20 primary schools and serves a wide geographical area including Wallasey, Moreton and Birkenhead. The Oldershaw Academy is situated at the heart of the local community and we pride ourselves on our commitment to the education of both boys and girls. Pupils are the most important people at Oldershaw and we are proud of their achievements. As we move to our Centenary celebrations we look to the future and our outstanding traditions. Success is in our DNA and we are building upon the achievements recognised by Ofsted in 2013. The Ofsted Inspector praised the curriculum “The excellent curriculum is specifically tailored to meet the needs of individuals” and “Students are taught in small groups. This helps them learn quickly and make good progress”. In 2015 Year 7 pupils will be taught in classes of approximately 20 pupils and all Year 10 and 11 pupils who require extra help will be given one to one support in English, Mathematics and Science. At Oldershaw we achieve excellence through achievement, creativity and care. Every child is important and we pride ourselves in setting the very highest standards for academic achievement and behaviour. Cutting edge Apple Technology is used throughout the Academy and students have access to iPhones and iPads to enhance their learning. The eLearning facilities at Oldershaw are amazing state of the art technology which significantly improves the learning of all of our students.
